PUPIL PREMIUM PAYMENTS TO SCHOOLS : Information For Claimant

If your child is in reception, year 1 or year 2 at school, they are now entitled to free school meals.

In addition, if you are in receipt of Child Benefit and one of the following welfare benefits,

  • Income Support.
  • Income Based Jobseeker’s Allowance.
  • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance.
  • Child Tax Credit and a gross annual income that does not exceed £16,190 (2014/2015) Please note that you will not qualify for Free School Meals if you receive Working Tax Credit (unless your claim is within the 4 week run on period).
  • Pension Credit Guaranteed Credit.
  • Asylum Seeker Status (receiving support).

You can help Dinnington Community Primary School to obtain a pupil premium payment.

What is a pupil premium payment? – This is a Government payment to the school.

How Much Is the Payment? – £1300 per child paid to the school.

What Will The Money Be Used For? – Extra tuition, additional teaching staff, after school activities.

How To Obtain a Pupil Premium – Simply complete an application form (obtained from school or the Benefits Office, telephone the Benefits Office (01709 336066) or complete the on-line application form (http://www.rotherham.gov.uk/info/4/freeschoolmeals).

How Long Will The Pupil Premium Last? – this will continue whilst you receive one of the above welfare benefits.
