Our essential question this term is What is it like in the world of Walliams?' We will be looking at books written by David Walliams, particularly concentrating on Gangsta Granny, this will be our novel study book for the term. Our new classroom looks AMAZING!!
We have arranged a trip to the theatre this term! We are lucky enough to be watching Gangsta Granny live on stage in Stoke on Trent. Letters have gone home with the details and consent forms, please ask if you need another. This trip is on Thursday 9th June. We will be going into McDonalds for lunch, the children have decided to use some of their class money to pay for this. Please see the letter for all of the details.
Thank you for your support.
We are currently on 69% of parents connected. This is fantastic but we would love to have 100% of parents connected to class dojo. If you need another copy of the passcodes, please let me know.
Class dojo is a free app or website which enables you to link with you child's class from home. You can see the dojo points that your child has been earning or see our class story or pictures. Your child can also log on with a child's account to change what their monster looks like and see how many points they have got.
Registration and the app are free of charge. You just need the personal registration code for you or your child which is on the letters we have sent out. Please call in to see me if you need any help getting this amazing tool.
WOW day to Rotherham College
We had a fantastic day at Rotherham College learning how to bake Eccles cakes and jam turnovers using Fair Trade ingredients.
In school we are having a big push on learning our times tables. To help us to do this we will spend from 1pm-1.15pm every day to practice our times tables in lots of fun ways. It would be great if you could spend some time at home with your child practising their tables. Below are some links to some of the fab songs we are using to help us to learn.
MFL is now part of our curriculum. In school we are studying French. We have already looked at how many languages influence our English language and also compared living in France to living in England.
We are now learning to introduce ourselves, count from 1-10 and learn some holiday vocabulary. There are links below to some of the videos that we are using in class. Children have been really enjoying learning a new language and they are really doing well!
We have now subscribed to the Bug club online reading resource. This exciting website has books, games and rewards for the children. The children all have their own individual log on so that we can make sure that the things on their site are just right for them. The children all have books at the correct level for them to read and there are questions for them to answer about the books. Correct answers will earn coins and jewels to spend in the site on rewards! If you would like to ask any questions about how to use it or if the children have forgotten their username or passwords, please feel free to see us either before or after school.
