This term we are learning about castles.
We will be learning the names for the different parts of a castle; the role of knights in defending and attacking castles; castle banquets and the food eaten and entertainment provided. We will also be learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and retelling this in true Pie Corbett style.
Last week we had attended a castle banquet: The Lord and Lady invited their loyal knights and villagers to join them at a Castle Banquet. They were entertained in true style by the court juggler, Royal Flutist and the Lord's Story Teller. In addition to this the knights and villagers were given a feast of soup, bread, fruit and wine!
Earlier in the week we had a a royal tournament hosted by Lord Josh, in the Courtyard Mugger! A great time was had by all.
We have also been using our observational skills to create sketches of castles, using different pencils for outlining and detail.
